You can donate to WEJF through a donor-advised fund (DAF). It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3 – contribute, invest, and grant.
What is a DAF?
A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is a philanthropic investment account established at a public charity. As the donor, you contribute assets to the fund, receive an immediate tax benefit, and recommend grants from the fund over time to your favorite charitable organizations.
As of 2022, there were nearly 2 million DAF accounts in the United States.
Invest DAF Assets for Growth
You can recommend an investment strategy for the assets in your DAF to grow your ability to give. Any investment growth is tax-free.
Personalized Charity Giving
You can appoint friends and family members to help you manage the DAF and designate how the DAF assets will be used beyond your lifetime, which may include appointment successors or charitable beneficiaries. You can name your DAF anything you would like.
How to Make a Gift
Contact the public charity that sponsors your DAF to make a gift from your DAF to WEJF. You can log on to common DAF account sponsors here: Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, BNY Mellon. The Wisconsin Equal Justice Fund’s EIN is 39-1904737.
